Welcome to Essex tattoo studio, Inception Ink. We opened our Essex tattoo studio in 2022 as a husband-and-wife team, creating a fresh and welcoming space focused on talent, quality, and client care. Since then, we have won the award for ‘Best Tattoo shop in Essex’.
We are proud to say that clients have travelled not only from Essex towns such as Chelmsford, Basildon, and Southend but also from across the UK and even overseas. People have flown in from the US, Canada, and New Zealand to be tattooed by our team. That kind of trust is something we value highly.

Tattoos are permanent, which is why they should never feel rushed or impersonal. We take the time to understand your story and your vision. Our clients come to us with everything from meaningful memorials to fun, lighthearted ideas. Each one is treated with care, respect, and the skill it deserves.
We offer dot work, line work, black and grey, lettering, ornate, floral, and traditional pieces. Our talented artists create bespoke designs for you, either by appointment or as a walk in appointment.
Our studio was founded with a simple goal: to make tattoos accessible without the intimidating vibe some shops can have. We pride ourselves on being friendly, professional, and inclusive. Whether you are covered head to toe in ink or nervous about getting your first small piece, you will always feel welcome here.

We know that tattoos mean different things to different people. Some are carefully planned for months, while others are spontaneous decisions that feel perfect in the moment. That is why we offer both booked appointments and walk ins.
If you want to sit down, plan a larger piece, and talk through your ideas in detail, you can book a consultation with one of our artists. If you fancy something smaller and spur of the moment, you are welcome to drop by and see if we have space for a walk in tattoo. Either way, you will get the same high standard of care.
Tattooing is an art form, but it is also a process that requires the highest standards of safety. We take client safety seriously. Every piece of equipment we use is either single-use disposable or professionally sterilised. All of our inks and materials are sourced from trusted suppliers to ensure the best possible results.
